This limited edition A5 booklet of poetry is a curated collection of the work of the Yorkshire New Wave poet, Clifford Nicholas.
Nicholas (1928-2021) was born in the North East of England, and his family moved to Leeds (West Yorkshire) when he was a small child. The University of Leeds is the site of the most complete hard copy collection of his previous work and is held in Special Collections.Nicholas’s poetry has historically been published by Aquila, but also by a collaborative small poetry press called Scree which he ran, with two other editors, in Norfolk during the same period. A number of his poems were also broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and 4 during the 1970s.
This collection is the most relevant of his works to date. The booklet includes poems from the 1960s to shortly before his death in 2021. Many of the poems included here have never been in print before.
This hard copy A5 booklet comes with a high-quality white card cover with coloured print. The inside is black and white text. It is a 28 page booklet, containing 13 carefully selected poems by the editor, Tina Richardson. There is also a foreword by the editor. Here is the list of contents:
